Welcome to the Alden House Inn
The Alden House is an inviting, comfortable inn located in Belfast, in the heart of Penobscot Bay. Built in 1840 for Hiram O. Alden by architect Calvin Ryder, the inn features classic Greek Revival architecture, a Victorian era porch and gardens. A Hartley Botanic greenhouse and large stone patio were added recently to enhance the gardens. We are conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Belfast.
The Alden House offers easy access to points of interest along Penobscot Bay, Acadia National Park, Midcoast Maine and of course the City of Belfast, with its eclectic array of shops, musical and artistic events, and beautiful waterfront. Main and High Street boast several restaurants and pubs, farmer's markets, and historical streets.
We are closed for the 2023 season and plan to reopen the reservation system in early January for the 2024 Summer season, which will run from July through September.
If you are interested in renting the inn spaces, including common rooms, porch, patio, and guest rooms, they are available for small private events, with use of the kitchen by caterers. Please contact us for further information.
