Welcome to The Alden House
The Alden House is an inviting, comfortable inn located in Belfast, in the heart of Penobscot Bay.  Built in 1840 for Hiram O. Alden by architect Calvin Ryder, the inn features classic Greek Revival architecture and Victorian era porch and gardens.   A Hartley Botanic greenhouse and large stone patio were added recently to enhance the gardens.  We are conveniently located within walking distance of the city.

The Alden House offers easy access to points of interest along Penobscot Bay, Acadia National Park, Maine’s Mid-Coast region and of course the City of Belfast, with its eclectic array of shops, musical and artistic events, and beautiful waterfront. Main and High Streets boast several restaurants and pubs, farmers' markets, and historical streets.

In addition, if you are interested in renting the inn spaces, including guest rooms, common rooms, porch and patio, they are available for small private events, with use of the kitchen by caterers.  Please contact us to inquire.
